Our Business

Why We Are

Frederick Douglas, LLC was formed to be the name under which some of the most creative, thought provoking works of visual media can come to life. Creating visual media should accomplish more than entertainment. It should educate, inspire, and motivate us to pursue the passions that drive us to be better and make the world around us better. That is why we exist. However, not to be diminished is the importance of sharing many laughs along the journey.

The business name was not solely selected because of its association with the well known social former, abolitionist, orator, writer and statesman. It is also my name, albeit I spell Douglas with one less ‘s’.

It Takes A Team

Ask anyone accomplished in the video production industry and they’ll tell you, it takes the collaboration of creative, talented, skilled, and hard-working people to achieve something worthy of your time and attention. Read about me below, but rest assured, every finished product we create is a result of many individuals who have invested their time into each project or into my personal growth and development. I am not who I am without the time they took to improve me personally and professionally. Their contributions should not go unnoticed.

Frederick D. Middlebrooks

Born and raised in metropolitan Atlanta, Ga., my passion for creative arts and visual media began at an early age. My training started in college at Middle Tennessee State University where I earned by bachelor’s, obtaining my first hand’s on experience in film/tv production while majoring in Electronic Media Production and minoring in Film Studies.

Following college, I worked as a freelance videographer shooting and editing music videos, promotional videos, and weddings among other events.

In 2012 I joined the Navy as a Public Affairs Officer, where I obtained and sharpened journalism skills while overseeing the photos, videos, and print stories created by the Mass Communication Specialists.

After seven years of service, I set a course to pursue a full-time career in film/tv production. The journey is still near it’s inception. Potential is high and no barriers in sight. I’m excited about the possibilities being uncovered each day and blessed to have been gifted to serve in this field.
